It’s a lovely poem written by a man who left his wife in Iraq to find living in Andalusia some time around the 11th century. After what he went through he did not get what he was wishing for from his trip. And in this poem he is asking her to stop blaming him for leaving, and that he knows that she has all the right to, but her words are causing him pain.
Then he is begging her to have mercy on his troubled heart, Claiming that he got his reward for leaving her after all, and that he never thought about leaving her until the day that a “hand” came between them and tore them apart.
This track was done in 2008 by a Lebanese singer called Fadia Alhajj.
